Baptism

A New Beginning

Hope in a New Beginning

Welcome to God’s family!

As Lutheran Christians, we baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism is a sacred washing (though we typically sprinkle the forehead) that lasts for your whole life. Water is a vehicle for God’s promises of new life, forgiveness, and salvation. Each week we begin worship by remembering our baptism.

Whether you are a newborn or an adult, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism brings rebirth as a child of God who is marked with the cross of Christ forever.

While baptism happens once, your faith journey takes a lifetime. Hope offers different ways to help your spiritual formation as you grow up in Christ:

HOPE offers different ways to help your spiritual formation as you grow up in Christ:

At Hope we welcome all baptized Christians to share the meal of the church, Holy Communion, which we celebrate every week.

“In baptism our gracious heavenly Father frees us from sin and death by joining us to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are born children of a fallen humanity; by water and the Holy Spirit we are reborn children of God and made members of the church, the body of Christ.”
– ELW Baptism Liturgy
